Young Explorers

To play “Young Explorers” is very easy. You only have to pick a card from the four decks in the table. The key of the fun is that each card has different effects, and this determine the game regarding the cards you draw in your turn.

The objective is to gather all point cards that we can, because who has more victory points, wins. Cards with victory points are the rings, the coins, the keys, the books and the pearls. If you have the two halves of the bill, you gain 100 points.

Later there are cards that trigger different effects, as to make other player to lose a turn, to lose oneself two turns, to oblige oneself to draw two cards each turn, give an unknown card to other player, etc. These cards make that the developing of the game is changing and make it unpredictable.

But the key thing fo fun in the game is triggered by ear-tuggings and keys. Ear-tuggings make you have to lose all cards that you have drawn until that momento, so, you have to start the game since zero. But you can avoid this effect discarding a key card.

There are more cards as director’s room, where you can lead with you another player to doom, or the jay, that make all of the rest of players to lose a coin. Because you don’t know what are you going to draw every turn, good or nasty, each draw of card is a surprise and players enjoy each time something good occur or when other player is granted with a funny card as ear-tugging.

As you can see, it is a very simple game, but also a very dynamic one. For this purpose, it is able to amuse people from all ages and game profile with no need of explaining any complex rule.

There are only 100 cards, and in a small size, so it is very easy to carry and to put in a table. It doesn’t require more preparation than the fact of cards are well mixed, and it lasts less than 10 minutes each game. Also lots of people can play, the game is indicated for 8 players as maximum for say a suitable number, but really there is no limit for number of players, what made it perfect for parties and familiar meetings.
